ACRRM GP Training Program Structure

GP Training applicants can choose to train towards either Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practice (FRACGP) and/or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural & Remote Medicine (FACRRM).
For applicants training towards FACRRM, the training program is 4 years, with opportunity for recognition of prior of learning. The typical training program structure for FACRRM Registrars is below. For more information about each stage of training, click the links below.
- Year 1: Hospital based training
- Years 2 & 3: Primary rural & remote training in a variety of teaching environments including rural and remote accredited hospitals, Aboriginal medical services & community based facilities.
- Year 4: Advanced specialised training
