Clinical Teacher Training Programs
GP Synergy annually conducts a Clinical Teacher Training Workshop - a face-to-face interactive workshop that focuses on practical clinical teaching techniques that is ideal for those interested in clinical teaching, as well as those already involved who would like to extend and add to their existing clinical teaching skills.
Running for eight years, the workshop has been attended by over 170 GP Supervisors from around Australia.
The Clinical Teacher Training Program comprises several core teaching module options designed to improve GP Supervisor’s teaching abilities through a combination of didactic and small group activities. Workshop modules include:-
- Teaching Procedural Skills
- Teaching in the Presence of a Patient
- Microskills with Reflection
- Clinical Supervision and Giving Feedback
- Assessing & Teaching Consultation Skills
- Assessing Effectiveness as a Clinical Teacher
- The Corridor Consultation
